John W. Hill received his undergraduate degree from The Ohio State University in 1948 with a major in accounting. He earned his law degree from Capital University Law School
in 1952 and was subsequently admitted to the Ohio Bar and the U.S. District Court, Southern District of Ohio in 1952. Mr. Hill was
a partner in the law firm of Shoemaker, George, Hill & Passmore from 1952 to 1960. At that time, he was elected
as Judge of the Franklin County Court of Common Pleas, Division of Domestic Relations from 1960 to 1982. Mr. Hill served as a member of the
Franklin County Children Services Board for 16 years, and is a past presiding officer of the Scottish Rite Valley of Columbus and holds the 33rd degree in the Ancient
Accepted Scottish Rite. Mr. Hill is the past Chairman of the Advisory Board to the Youth Commission and has served as a member of various crime task forces
established by the Governor of Ohio. In 1982, Mr. Hill was awarded an honorary Doctor of Laws Degree by Capital University for his service to the legal profession and contribution to legal education.
